Love tango?… Played by world class musicians?… Then watch and listen to the guys from DECO Ensemble.
The London based Deco Ensemble launch their new album ‘’Encuentro’’ where you can hear pieces from their CD along with contemporary tango music by Gustavo Beytelmann, Frederic Devreese, Ramiro Gallo and Astor Piazzolla.
We met them just before their gig at the St Mary’s Church in Ealing in aid of The Holly Lodge Centre in Richmond Park.

DECO ensemble
Ricardo: I think it all started with the tango really. It’s a kind of music that really appeals to all of us despite our very different backgrounds.
Elena: Tango is the kind of music that everyone likes.
Rob: It’s very different from last year when we were playing mainly at local festivals and in smaller venues.
Sabina: This is our most challenging and most exciting season because first of all we contine establishing ourselves as an ensemble, playing together, rehearsing together, performing in different venues in London and outside, internationally but it’s also very important because it is the season when we will be launching our album.
Ricardo: Once we’ve started with the most popular names I would say of tango music, like Astor Piazzola of course and his Tango Nuevo then we started looking into it deeper and deeper and we found all this repertoire that was there waiting to be played.
Rob: This year has been more focused around London and this record that we were producing and it is coming out on the 9th July.
Sabina: The pinnacle of the year is going to be 9th July and taking the opportunity we would like to invite London audiences to come and to support us and listen to some music, and to support the launch of our album on the 9th July at Purcell room. The tickets are already online and you can look up through our website at www.decoensemble.com where you have direct links to the Purcell room to purchase the tickets.
